I still find it incredible that this little red dot can raise the global champs Keppel and Sembmarine, which together produce 70 % of world’s oil rigs. There are also other home grown companies blazing the hazardous global trail. One of my fav. is OSIM ( I am vested ), which I think can make the grade after learning from their Brookstone, USA mistake ( tuition fees lol ). Great CEOs make their own luck.
abb - Agree that div. is nothing to shout about but I like this highly scalable biz. Anyway, I have been using OSIM products for yrs and have now added GNC vitamins, so might as well own some shares lah. Dont know how their new TWG biz will go but you can see that the CEO is dynamic in adding top new brands to its stable.
Am disappointed with its share price but I think this co will make it to the top league as they have great execution skills, esp in Asia. Problem might be not enough free float as CEO owns 70% . A share split or bonus issue might do the trick? My views only.
This counter is under the radar and deemed boring, but it’s share price slowly inched up 48% last yr, much better than STI 20% gain. It just announced its 16th consecutive quarter of profit growth despite tough economic environment in last few yrs. ( EPS = 11.9 cts. and  total 6 cts dividend or 3.3 % yield ). Not bad for a boring counter.
My fear of their venturing into TWG tea biz is gone after visiting their packed restaurants at Marina Sands. Â I ‘d prefer them to stay out of the tough restaurant biz and just expand their TWGÂ o****** more aggressively , but I guess its mgt team knows better. Â Am vested.
Champ at all time high and still going strong. Price went up 75% in last 12 mths. Slow but steady. Just relax and let the Champ continue its good work. Am vested. My views only, dyodd.
