Best World had S$33 million cash as at end-Sept, so it can easily maintain its final dividend at 1 cent.
Based on 206 m shares outstanding, Best World will dish out only S$2.1 m for a final dividend of 1 cent.
(If it wanted to, it could offer the choice of a scrip dividend based on a slight discount to the stock price.)
Despite a terrible set of result for the first 9 months of 2010, dont forget FY10 was its 20th anniversary
It would be only right if the company pays a special dividend too – let’s say 1 cent – for a total of 2 cents a share.
The yield wld then be 2 dividend by 29 cents stock price….. which is 6.89% ….OK lah, not bad collection while shareholders wait for the business to recover and trigger a capital gain on the stock price.
(by the way, Best World has paid an interim dividend of 1.2 cents)
Results coming today or tomorrow?
If only they would not surprise on the downside...... which is what they have been doing in the past 1 year. My buddy says can only hope they give a decent final dividend and turn around in 2011.
